Alison Dun completed her PhD at the Centre for Integrative Physiology in The University of Edinburgh in 2013. For her PhD Alison investigated cellular communication using advanced imaging tools including live cell tracking, fluorescent lifetime imaging and single molecule localisation microscopy. Working since then within the Institute of Biological Chemistry, Bioengineering and Biophysics at Heriot-Watt University has enabled Alison to be involved in research projects across the disciplines. Alison continues in research through collaboration with ESRIC users’ projects giving her far-reaching experience in how to apply a multitude of microscopy techniques to a scientific question. As well as managing the facility, providing training and assisting in research projects Alison organises the ESRIC Super-Resolution Summer School every year alongside other events and training.
