The annual Edinburgh Super-Resolution Imaging Consortium (ESRIC) Meeting promotes interdisciplinary research in advanced and super-resolution optical imaging and its application to biomedical science in the Edinburgh and the Lothians. The Advanced Imaging Technologies Symposium; Applying advanced Imaging to Molecular Cell Biology was held at the Initsutute for Genetics and Molecular Medicine (IGMM) at the University of Edinburgh on January 24th 2017 from 1pm-5pm.
Speakers included:
- Wendy Bickmore
- Julie Welburn
- David Lyons
- Veronique Miron
- Megan Davey
- Alison Hulme
- Ryu-Suke Nozawa
- Toby Hurd
- Paul Dalgarno
- Iwan Schaap
The mix of speakers from a range of disciplines from Biochemistry, Biophysics and the clinical sciences created a truly interdisciplinary environment, with work presented on a range of fields with microscopy at the core. The afternoon was well attended by researchers from Edinburgh and further afield and gave a great opportunity for networking and knowledge exchange within the micrscopy community. The IGMM's new DragonFly system by Andor was demonstrated throughout the afternoon - looking forward to seeing some exciting data coming from that soon!
